Our 2008 Technology Conference was held from May 27th thru 30th at Trinity Western University in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. This was the first time the conference was held outside of the United States and was also one of our largest with over 90 conference guests, speakers, and sponsors attending this year's event. As in previous conferences, we continued to feature the knowledge and expertise within our CCCU schools with a number of quality sessions from our CCCU member schools ranging in topics from the pedological uses of an iPhone to retaining IT staff members. Along with presentations from our member institutions, we also had several presentations from our sponsors: On behalf of the Council on Technology for the CCCU and the TWU Conference team, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to our conference sponsors and their support of this conference. Participation of these excellent sponsors is critical to minimizing cost to the member schools and our sponsors brought a number of quality presentations to the conference this year as well. While the conference was organized around a number of 45 minute sessions, a highlight of the conference was the Wednesday outing - held this year at Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver. A number of conference guests remarked that while they appreciated the venue, the real value of the outing was in the formation of relationships with other technology personnel across the CCCU. As in the past, a number of participants indicated that the building of these relationships are a key reason they attend the conference. It's not too early to start planning for the 2009 Conference to be held at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. The conference will run from June 2 to 5 with Indiana Wesleyan hosting the conference guests in their residence facilities. For more information on the 2009 conference, please watch this site. The conference host is John Jones, Vice President for Information Technology at Indiana Wesleyan. |
